Sheri and I decided to remodel our master bathroom. (Actually Sheri decided to as she ripped out all of the tile in the shower area, called me on my cell and asked what I was doing this weekend.  I asked her why and she said she had ripped out the bathroom - what a woman!)  I took out the cheap panel cabinets that were there (20 years!) and built a new vanity. The other vanity only had 2 doors and an open area, and we wanted more storage. The carcass is built out of 3/4 cabinet grade birch. It is 2 cabinets with 1 face-frame. The face is built out of poplar. This was my first attempt at raised panel doors and I think they came out great. The rails and stiles are poplar and the panel is MDF. All will be painted, so the doors should look great.  I added bead board to the side and back walls, crown molding, new mirror, lights and it turned out extremely nice.

The cabinet is taller than your standard cabinet and a little wider.  It is a lot more comfortable.  There is a piece of crown molding that goes from the face-frame to the counter top.
